An Open Directory of Local Businesses and Community has been opened for Alabaster www.shop-Alabaster.com in April of 2009. Currently it is just a baby and taking it's first steps - accepting local listings, your listings!

If you are a business owner, or would like to add your organizations, it is very easy to do and free. As you create your login, and list your business, you will be able to return any time and edit your business, to keep it updated.

You can enter description, contact info, website, images, and address. Users can vote and comment on their favorite listings. If you would like to give your listing an extra exposure, Shop-Alabaster.com offers additional paid services.

Bring a canned food item as an entree ticket. Collected canned goods will be donated to the local food bank.

Chilli Cook-Off Rules

 

Chili Cook-Off Rules

Start Time: 4:00 PM

  1. Contestants should be at the Weatherly Clubhouse by 4pm.
  2. Chili must be prepared from raw ingredients compiled by the contestants. No “just add meat” mixes, no Hormel©; also only USDA meats can be used. No venison, rabbit, or beef from an unapproved source.  That means no wild animals or road kill! 
  3. Chili may be made with or without meat or beans. 
  4. Contestants should make a minimum of 1 gallon of chili for judging and public consumption.  
  5. Contestants must be willing to eat their own chili. 
  6. All contestants must provide their own heating apparatus – crock pot, camping stove or canned fuel (i.e. Sterno©) and extension cords to keep chili at its appropriate temperature for serving (140 degrees minimum). 
  7. Organizers will provide cups and spoons for samples. 
  8. Judging is blind and starts at 5pm. 
  9. WRA Chili Cook-off Champion will be announced by 6:30 p.m. 
  10. The Judges will be grading on the fallowing criteria on a scale of 1 to 10 for a max of 40.
